We absolutely have to cover the Music of The Infernalist in this game reveal series. While playing The Infernalist and progress through the story line you’ll reach a massive turning point. You’ll actually come to realize how big the world of The Infernalist actually is. Well, a lot of that is still under development, but the relevant piece of information for this video is that the Music has to match quite some ambitious requirements. We’ve played some loops from our music during the previous episodes, and we even have some of that playing right now, as support, for this video. To succeed with our Soundtrack for The Infernalist we have to pay close attention to a lot of detail. First, we don’t want the music to be intrusive. We want the player to be focused on the story, and at the same time, use the emotion we can transmit through music, to make the story line immersive. This scene is pretty much one of the firsts you are going to see when you start the game. You can watch our story episode from this series to find out more about the beginning of your journey in the game, but in short, we call this scene “The Awakening”. This is pretty much the scene in which your character regains consciousness. How did we compose the music for this awakening scene? It starts with a bit of confusion. We get a short conversation between the instruments of the strings section of an orchestra. It’s pretty much question, question, question. I imagine this to be someone’s state of mind if they don’t know their whereabouts. It continues then with a bit of mystery: What is this? What is happening to me? I have this strange feeling… and so on. It then gradually progresses towards the culminating point, which is… The Awakening. We do that by adding additional instruments along the way, and increasing the overall intensity of it all. Moving out of this scene, it continues then, for a while, with mystery, more questions, and confusion, but all in one. This is where you are now, the question is what you are about to do? But you are not at full strength. You don’t even know what you are feeling. However, these requirements don’t seem ambitious enough to me. Sadly, I can’t tell you more about it, without spoiling the story line, and so, we’ll hope you’ll play the game and find out all about it. We’ll reveal more in the episodes to come.
